Japanese Flower Bracelet Cuff

The Japanese Flower Bracelet is based on the Japanese style of chain maille weave. Many mobius flowers (each made of three rings woven through the centers of each other, resulting in what looks like an endless spiral) are woven together with smaller rings. Almost 400 rings go into a 7-inch bracelet. The mobius flowers are about 9mm in diameter. The bracelet is just under 1 inch wide (23mm). The Japanese Flower Bracelet is made entirely from sterling silver and closes with a tubular slide clasp.

Complete Luxury.
The European 4-in-1 is a weave traditionally used to make armor — but it also makes luxurious jewelry. The rings – over 1300 of them in an 8-inch bracelet – are 20 gauge and only just over 3mm in diameter. At 17 rows, the bracelet is 1-1/2 inches wide. The bracelet is completely fluid, draping around the wrist and very soft on the skin. The rings are sterling silver and the bracelet closes with a sterling silver tubular slide clasp.

A new design from Crescent Maille: the Circle’s Edge Bracelet.

Segments of Byzantine, a traditional weave made with modern square rings, link large “square” circles. Traditional and modern, classy and industrial, evocative of hardware. The Byzantine segments are about 1/4-inch in diameter (7mm), and the large rings are just under 1/2-inch in diameter (12mm). The rings are sterling silver & the bracelet closes with a large sterling silver lozenge clasp.

Square Half Persian 4-in-1 Bracelet

Square Half Persian 4-in-1

New to the Crescent Maille line — not the weave, but the type of ring it is made from. A beautiful weave, the Half Persian looks, head-on, quite serpentine. It looks totally different from the other angle, like herringbone, and is almost flat. The Half Persian 4-in-1 is notoriously difficult to weave, but well worth it. This variation is made from “square rings,” that is, rings made of square wire (see also the Square Byzantine bracelet). The bracelet is nearly 1/2-inch wide; substantial, industrial, it is equally suitable for a man or a woman.

New: 6-in-1 Spiral Bracelet

This truly lovely weave is a very fine continuous spiral chain made of sterling silver “half round” rings; half round rings are like a cross-section of regular rings, rounded on the outside but flat on the inside. These rings keep the spiral weave locked in place in a way that regular rings cannot.

Collect Original Art and Give Children Books.

As if chain maille isn’t intricate enough, Crescent Maille introduces Cloudery, a shop for original pen & ink doodles of the most detailed sort — free-form yet focused. Each drawing, with lines as thin as .2mm (and a maximum pen point of .5mm), takes hours to create. No pencil, no eraser. Unplanned, each drawing goes where the pens take it.

One mission of Cloudery is “Art for Books.” From each sale of a drawing at Cloudery, a donation will be made to First Book. The donation provides brand new books to children who have never had the opportunity to own books before. From their website (www.firstbook.org):

First Book is a nonprofit organization with a single mission: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. We provide an ongoing supply of new books to children participating in community-based mentoring, tutoring, and family literacy programs.

First Book has the highest rating (four stars) from Charity Navigator.

Double Color Olivia Weave Bracelets

Prompted by a custom order, two new versions of the Olivia Weave bracelet are for sale. The Olivia Weave is a variation of the Byzantine weave, in which individual Byzantine segments are joined at top and bottom to form a band. Previously available only in sterling silver, now it is offered—with slightly differently proportioned ring sizes—in either Sterling Silver + Gold Fill, or Sterling Silver + Blue Niobium. In the gold fill version, the large rings are gold fill; in the niobium version, both the large rings and the small connector rings are shades of blue niobium that range from icy steel to deep midnight.

The Knotted-Silver Necklace

Another new Crescent Maille design: The Knotted-Silver Necklace. Rings made from 16 gauge sterling silver square wire are fashioned into knots by weaving two together through their centers. 17 of these knots are then strung on a 16-inch sterling curb chain to make a very industrial looking yet delicate necklace.
